I’m with you Joe, I’d run away and join a convent before I’d ever be with someone with emotional/mental issues again. No way, no how.

Realistically, most men my age would have a divorce and the attendant financial issues, and to be honest my ex’s excellent wage didn’t prevent him from being pathologically miserly – we saved ziplock bags and knife and fork packs from restaurants – and I’m having way more fun with the current guy who’s barely got his head above water after a brutal divorce. He works hard to meet his obligation to his kids, and I admire both his dedication to them and his work ethic. A lot of our ‘dates’ are darts and beer and dancing in my garage, and that suits me just fine.

I think I’d balk at a prison record. Any kind of violent crime would be a show stopper for me. ‘White collar’ crime doesn’t really sit any better … I can’t really come up with a reasonable scenario where something serious enough to go to prison wouldn’t be a major indication of a character or personality flaw that would be an innate part of that person.
